Mount Myoko and Imori Pond
Mount Myoko (2,454m above sea level), towering over Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture, is one of Japan's 100 most famous mountains and is a beautiful composite volcano also known as "Echigo Fuji."
There are multiple climbing routes, and from the summit you can see the Kubiki mountain range, the surrounding mountains, and the changing scenery of the seasons, making this a mountain that is attractive to climbers from beginners to advanced climbers.
Meanwhile, Imori Pond (circumference approximately 500m), located in the center of Ikenotaira Onsen in Myoko Kogen, is a natural spot where the view of Mt. Myoko reflected on the water's surface on clear days is a spectacular sight. The pond displays a variety of beauty throughout the seasons, with skunk cabbage colonies in April and May, reed fields in summer, and autumn leaves in autumn. A walking path has been built around the pond, which can be circled in about 15 minutes, and barrier-free measures are also being implemented.
Mt. Myoko and Imori Pond are recommended for hiking, walking, and nature photography, and are a must-see tourist spot for both nature lovers and tourists.

Naena Falls
Naena Falls is a famous waterfall that has been selected as one of Japan's 100 best waterfalls. It is a beautiful natural waterfall with a drop of about 55 meters on the Seki River, which flows along the border between Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture and Nagano Prefecture. The water cascading spectacularly down the rock face with well-developed columnar joints of basalt is also known as the "Earthquake Waterfall" (Nawi Falls) due to its power and roaring sound, and when the snow melts in spring, the water volume increases, making it even more spectacular.
There is a walking path, and it takes about 15 minutes on foot from the parking lot to the observation deck. The route across the suspension bridge allows you to get close to the basin of the falls and experience the power of the waterfall firsthand.
The scenery changes with each season, and you can enjoy the changing faces of the seasons, from the fresh green leaves of the mountains, to the coolness of summer, to the colorful leaves of autumn, making it one of the highlights of sightseeing in Myoko Kogen.

妙高高原
Myoko Kogen, which spreads across Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture, is a highland resort area centered around Mt. Myoko (2,454m above sea level), where you can enjoy natural beauty and activities throughout the seasons.
In winter, visitors can enjoy the abundant snowfall and powder snow at a variety of ski resorts (Akakura, Suginohara, Ikenotaira, etc.), while in spring and summer, they can enjoy hiking, waterfall touring, and flower viewing. In autumn, the autumn leaves and the atmosphere of the hot spring town soothe the soul. With an array of scenic spots such as Imori Pond, Naena Falls, and Sasagamine Highlands, and designated as part of the Myoko-Togakushi Renzan National Park, the area is also attractive for its harmony between nature conservation and tourism. It has long been popular as a hot spring resort, and bathing in Akakura Onsen, Ikenotaira Onsen, and other hot springs is the perfect way to soothe winter fatigue.
