At 1584 meters above sea level, this mountain quietly watches over the Yufuin Basin. Its beautiful appearance has earned it the nickname "Bungo Fuji," and it has been the subject of mountain worship since ancient times.
Yunotsubo Kaido
This is the best place to walk around Yufuin. There are many small shops. It's a place that everyone should definitely visit.
Foshan Temple
This temple was the base of worship for Mt. Yufu. It is still visited by many people today. It is also on the route for horse-drawn carriages.
Sightseeing horse carriage
The course is about 4km long and takes about 50 minutes, starting from JR Yufuin Station and visiting Bussan-ji Temple and Unakihime Shrine before returning to JR Yufuin Station.
Shuhokan is located halfway along the course.
