Serious about having fun!
An analog board game inn
This is a rare lodging for board game lovers in Japan. We have a wide variety of board games available, ranging from two-player matches to party games for three to six players, with a wide range of genres and difficulty levels.
The appeal of analog games is that they naturally bring a smile to anyone's face, whether they're playing with friends, family, or as a couple.
You can even bring your own games! It's common to see adults playing serious games with a drink in hand. Who are they challenging? A friend? A parent? Or the owner?
Even if you're not good at languages, you can still connect through fun, so everyone can have fun together, regardless of nationality.
Come to Pension Tomo and enjoy a time where you can really get into fun!

When it snows, it's time to play.
Enjoy winter at Pension Tomo!
In winter, Pension Tomoha transforms into a natural playground packed with the fun of playing in the snow!
In a garden enveloped in a blanket of snow, you can freely have snowball fights, build snowmen, and even play hide-and-seek in the snow. Even without any designated play equipment, the natural surroundings can quickly be transformed into playthings that will captivate both children and adults.
Parents and children can have fun throwing snow at each other, or get serious about building snow castles... Experiences that you wouldn't normally have the chance to have become part of your daily routine here.
On sunny days, the contrast between the blue sky and the silvery white is so beautiful you'll want to take pictures. What's more, Nekoma Mountain, Grandeco, and Urabandai Ski Resorts are all within a 20-minute drive, making it an ideal base for skiing and snowboarding trips.
Enjoy a special moment while feeling the memories of winter with your whole body.

Different excitement for each season
The garden, surrounded by nature, is a playground all year round! In the summer, you can enjoy crayfish fishing and bird watching in the small pond, and at night, you can enjoy summer nights with hand-held fireworks. In autumn, the mountains are dyed in autumn leaves, and we recommend spending some time relaxing and reading a book on a bench.
In winter, you can dive into fluffy powder snow and even walk on a frozen pond.
In addition, snowshoe rentals are available in winter (1,000 yen/day). Guided tours by the owner are also popular, making them a safe experience for first-time visitors and those with small children.
As you are guided through the forest, you will be able to experience the charm of nature, including the sounds of nature and animal footprints.

Location
Mt. Bandaisan
Mount Bandai, a beautiful mountain representing Fukushima Prefecture, boasts an elevation of 1,816m and is also known as "Aizu Fuji." The unique topography formed by the 1888 eruption gave birth to the current landscape of Urabandai.
The Goshikinuma Lakes, which spread out at the foot of the mountain, are known for their sparkling emerald green and cobalt blue colors, and in 2016 they received one star in the Michelin Green Guide Japon. This natural landscape has earned international acclaim.
Mt. Bandai offers a variety of activities, including mountain climbing, hiking, and strolling around the lakes and marshes, and its different faces change with the seasons, making it a fascinating area where you can experience the natural beauty of Japan.

Oguni Pond
This high-altitude marsh is located at an altitude of approximately 1,100m on the western foot of Mount Bandai. In early summer, the whole area is covered in blooming day lilies, creating a fantastical landscape of golden flower fields and quiet marshes.
Boardwalks have been constructed within the marshland, allowing visitors to experience nature up close while strolling. The surrounding mountains, such as Mt. Oguni and Mt. Nekoma, offer a fascinating landscape that changes with the seasons. Oguni-numa, with its untouched nature, is one of Fukushima's leading natural spots, recommended for those seeking tranquility and healing.

Goshikinuma Lakes
This scenic spot is dotted with over 30 lakes and ponds, large and small, created by the eruption of Mount Bandai. The different colors of the water in each lake, such as emerald green and cobalt blue, are due to the water quality and reflection of light, and their appearance changes depending on the season and weather.
The area is home to a series of scenic spots, including the famous Bishamon Lake, Aonuma Lake, and Ruri Lake, and the walking trail, which is about 4km long, is easy even for beginners to walk. It is a popular spot for sightseeing in Urabandai, where you can enjoy fresh greenery, autumn leaves, and snowscapes all year round.

Surrounded by the nature of Bandai-Asahi National Park, Pension Tomo is an inn that offers seasonal nature experiences and fun board games.
In spring and summer you can go crayfish fishing and bird watching, in autumn you can enjoy autumn leaves and reading, and in winter you can play in the snow and rent snowshoes. The owner's selection of board games is fun for both children and adults, and you're welcome to bring your own!
This is the perfect place to spend a holiday with family or friends, where you can have fun and relax in the forest.
