Simple yet luxurious country cuisine featuring the bounty of clear streams and mountains
The food at Katsugiso offers gentle flavors filled with the bounty of nature.
Fresh char, raised in the clear stream that flows in front of the inn and fed with spring water drawn from the mountains, is available all year round. The specialty, "fried char," is crispy on the outside and plump on the inside. You can even eat it down to the bone.
In addition, we offer handmade Aizu local cuisine using seasonal mountain produce such as wild plants, mushrooms, and local vegetables.
We serve fluffy, cooked rice purchased directly from contracted farmers in Aizu.
The simple, unpretentious flavors that make the most of the quality of the ingredients are truly a feast. The true flavors of the countryside will warm your body and soul.

Relax and enjoy the natural hot spring water and history
The hot springs at Katsuragisou are rare artesian springs that gush out naturally from the ground.
The hot water springs up without relying on pumps, and is truly the energy of the earth itself. Of course, it is a natural hot spring that flows directly from the source, allowing your mind and body to slowly relax.
Niki Onsen is known as a historic hot spring resort where the legend of the Heike clan's refugees remains, and has been healing travelers for over 1200 years.
There is also an open-air bath that can be reserved for private use. You can spend a luxurious and private time in the quiet bath surrounded by mountains.
Please enjoy a relaxing soak in the historic hot springs while taking in the scenery and breezes of the four seasons.

A relaxing inn with nature and cats
At Katsuragisou, the inn's mascot, Kurumi-chan, is always there to greet guests and provide a warm and comforting welcome. Kurumi-chan is a bit whimsical but friendly, and is loved by many repeat guests as another charm of the inn.
The inn is located in Futagi Onsen, a quiet area surrounded by mountains and clear streams, offering beautiful scenery and clear waters.
There are plenty of seasonal activities to enjoy, such as taking advantage of the natural environment and gathering wild vegetables, fishing in mountain streams, and mountain climbing.
It is also close to the Aizu region, which is steeped in history and culture, making it an ideal base for sightseeing. It is not too lively, but not boring either, and this balanced comfort is one of the charms of Katsuragi-so.
Enjoy a relaxing stay at this inn surrounded by abundant nature, a nostalgic atmosphere, and friendly cats.

The road is lined with thatched-roof houses and has been designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings by the national government.
The specialty "Negi Soba" is famous for its unique food culture of using a single scallion instead of chopsticks.
You can enjoy the changing seasons, with fresh greenery in spring and summer, autumn leaves in autumn, and snowy scenery in winter, making this an atmospheric tourist spot that makes you feel as if you've wandered into the world of a period drama.

Tonohetsuri (Shimogo Town)
It is a scenic spot with a series of strangely shaped rock formations formed over many years by erosion from the Agagawa River.
"Hetsuri" means cliff in the Aizu dialect, and as the name suggests, the towering rocks create a spectacular landscape.
It has been designated as a national natural monument, and its appeal lies in the fact that you can get a close-up view of the rock cliffs and clear streams while crossing the suspension bridge.
It is one of Shimogo Town's most popular tourist spots, where you can experience the beauty of nature's creations as it shows different faces with each season: the fresh greenery of spring, the beauty of the valley in summer, the autumn leaves, and the snowy scenery in winter.
