Ryusenji Temple
Ryusenji Temple is the head temple of the Daigo sect of Shingon Buddhism in Tenkawa Village, Yoshino County, Nara Prefecture.
In the precincts of Ryusen-ji Temple, there is a spring called “Ryu-no-Muchi,” which is called “purifying water” by Shugen practitioners.There is a pond ahead of it, and it is famous as a training hall for Shugendo, as it is said to be the first water training place on Mt. Omine.
Menfudo Limestone Cave
It was discovered in 878 at a high altitude of 8m above sea level, and was excavated over a period of five years.The Dorogawa area is a hydrological rock zone containing limestone.It is believed that long ago, the entire area where the village is now located was a huge limestone cave, and it is believed that it collapsed and the current limestone cave was the end of it.The cave is 5 meters long and the average temperature inside the cave is 280°C, so it feels cool in the summer and warm in the winter.Especially valuable are straw stalactites (straw-shaped stalactites).You can see the art of nature.It is located on a high place where you can overlook the town of Dorogawa, and it is one of the pleasures to go by the monorail nicknamed "Dorokko".
