We recommend local food made with regional ingredients and NUPKA's original "beer to start your journey"!
Check in on the 1st floor where CAFE & BAR is located. We offer craft beers from all over Japan, such as ``Journey Beer'' made with 100% Tokachi-produced barley malt, as well as original menus that use plenty of Tokachi-produced ingredients, such as ``Nupuka Gyoza,'' ``Nuprin,'' and ``Canelé.'' .
Nupka's original ``Journey Beer'' is a ``single origin'' pilsner made from 100% Hokkaido barley malt.Winner of Food Action Nippon Award 2016.
The croque monsieur plate (comes with a drink bar) is made with bread made from Tokachi wheat, sandwiched with melting cheese and flavorful roast pork.A dish made entirely from Tokachi except for the spices.

Walking around the city from the hotel
A place where travel and everyday life are connected
Mr. Kashio, the representative, wanted to ``contribute to his hometown of Obihiro,'' so he renovated an old, out-of-business accommodation facility and established it as a new community base.
Once you open the door, you can walk to food stalls, restaurants, cafes, bars, hot spring public baths, department stores, libraries, galleries, and live music venues, so you can enjoy the city as if you were living there.

Horse-drawn carriages around town - Horse-drawn carriage BAR
The ``Horse Carriage BAR'' project began with HOTEL NUPKA, which is also the departure and arrival point, and local friends who love horse culture.
``Basha BAR'' is a horse-drawn carriage tour pulled by Musashikoma, a horse that played an active role in Banei Tokachi.
In this town, which is the only place in the world to hold ``Banei Horse Racing,'' where horses pulling sleds compete for strength and speed, a new horse-drawn carriage ride will be running where you can enjoy alcohol and scenery.
Starting and ending at HOTEL NUPKA, located in the city center, a 3-minute walk from JR Obihiro Station, the 2km course takes about 50 minutes.
Enjoy the extraordinary experience of viewing the lively city center at night, including the Kitano Yatai stalls and in front of Obihiro Station, from a horse-drawn carriage, accompanied by locally sourced craft beer and snacks.
After the tour, you can jump out of the horse-drawn carriage and head out into the city you just saw, enjoying different views and local food.

Location

It's fun to look around at the food stalls in the north, wondering where to go today.
It was born in 2001 as a food stall village-style restaurant district on a site that was originally a parking lot.
Although it is not actually a "food stall," it is a place that was created with the aim of revitalizing the downtown area while supporting local restaurant owners who want to open their own businesses based on local markets and food stalls.
There are 20 ``Kita no Yatai'' shops, each with its own unique menu and genre, and it's fun to look around and think ``Where should I go today?''
The stores are replaced once every three years, and there are some that have ``graduated from being food stalls'' and opened stores nearby and become independent.
Although it is a popular area for tourists, there are many local regulars, and in the small interior, conversations with locals naturally start, and it is a place where you can enjoy delicious food, drinks, and stories about Tokachi every night.
At Kita no Yatai, events common to all stores are held with the theme of seasonal ingredients!

Tokachi Ice Park, an outdoor skating rink that appears in the winter cityscape
When you think of winter sports and leisure in Hokkaido, skiing is the first thing that comes to mind for many people, but unlike Niseko, Sapporo, and Furano on the western side of Hokkaido, which have a climate on the Sea of Japan coast, the plains of Tokachi last a year. Due to the high rate of sunny skies throughout the area, snow does not fall as much as on the west side, and on the other hand, winter temperatures are much lower than in Sapporo, so it is basically a world of ice.
Tokachi is also known as the kingdom of skating, as there are many people from Tokachi who have been active as skaters since their school days and have even participated in the Olympics.Skates are available for rent, so why not give it a try?

Cycle around Tokachi's vast plains, coastline and mountains
There are few cars and the roads are wide, making it a perfect area for cycling, but Tokachi is also a surprisingly diverse area, with not only plains but also coastal roads and mountainous areas.
In Tokachi, where many cyclists gather, there is a 8km main cycling route called ``Tokapuchi 400,'' which is drawn in a figure-eight shape and centers around Obihiro.
Traveling south from the Daisetsuzan area in the north to the coastal road in the south, you can enjoy unspoiled nature, endless fields, and the Hidaka Mountains on the west side, or enjoy hot springs and meals along the way. ...and you can enjoy cycling that is unique to Tokachi.
Why not explore the vast Tokachi area with the power of your legs and experience it with your whole body?

Tokachi Plain, which spreads out at the foot of the magnificent Hidaka Mountains, is a land blessed with nature, weather, food, and culture. Two hotels, ``HOTEL NUPKA'' and ``NUPKA Hanare,'' were born in Obihiro's ``town'', the gateway to the city.
Surrounded by the rich natural beauty of Tokachi's sunny skies and enjoying the bustle of the town at night with horse-drawn carriages, you are sure to create many memories of your trip that will make you want to live here.
We will be waiting for you at ``NUPKA'' which means ``wilderness'' in Ainu language.
