It was born in 2001 as a food stall village-style restaurant district on a site that was originally a parking lot.
Although it is not actually a "food stall," it is a place that was created with the aim of revitalizing the downtown area while supporting local restaurant owners who want to open their own businesses based on local markets and food stalls.
There are 20 ``Kita no Yatai'' shops, each with its own unique menu and genre, and it's fun to look around and think ``Where should I go today?''
Although it is a popular area for tourists, there are many local regulars, and in the small interior, conversations with locals naturally start, and it is a place where you can enjoy delicious food, drinks, and stories about Tokachi every night.
Happiness Station
Aikoku Station and Kofuku Station became famous for their catchphrase, "From the Land of Love to Happiness." At the time, the two stations were connected by the former Japan National Railways Hiroo Line, and due to this auspicious name, the "Kofuku-yuki" ticket is still very popular today as a passport to happiness! Just visiting this station building, which seems to make you happy, preserves the two diesel cars that were in service until the line was closed, as well as the platform and station building, and is now loved as a "railway park."
Between the end of April and the end of November, the "Koufuku Station Happy Ceremony" is also held, where you can experience a mock wedding ceremony.
