A rental house with a Showa retro atmosphere
This guest room is a relaxing space reminiscent of an old-style house, with a Showa-era retro atmosphere. You can feel the warmth of the countryside and spend a relaxing time as if you were back home.
We have 6-tatami mat Japanese-style rooms, 8-tatami mat Japanese-style rooms, and private rooms for one person (approximately 4.5 tatami mats), and we will guide you to the room that is most suitable for your group.
Each room is rented as a whole, so you can relax in a private space without having to worry about other guests.
If you have a preference, please make a reservation in advance by phone.

Enjoy Tarumi ingredients and homemade flavors at the hearth
We offer warm country cuisine to enjoy around the hearth. You can taste the couple's carefully prepared dishes using fresh local ingredients, especially those from Tarumi, as well as home-grown rice and miso. There is also a style where you can grill the ingredients yourself, making for a lively experience with family and friends.
Next to the hearth is a bar counter stocked with Kagoshima shochu. Enjoy a special moment with your favorite drink.
For breakfast, we offer traditional Japanese dishes such as kiln-cooked rice, grilled fish, and rolled eggs. A well-balanced nutritional breakfast will give you a good start to your day and recharge your energy for your trip.

Refresh your body and mind in a traditional Goemon bath
Enjoy a nostalgic bathing experience in our proud Goemon bath. The water does not cool easily due to the embers of the firewood and the residual heat of the bath itself, so the hot water always gently touches your body. This means that your body is still warm when you get out of the bath, and you can maintain a comfortable warm feeling for a long time.
Surrounded by the aroma of burning firewood, you will feel as if you have traveled back in time and enjoy a nostalgic moment.
If you don't know how to use the Goemon bath, please feel free to ask the owner or the landlady, and we will assist you.

Location

Sakurajima
The closest tourist spot to our accommodation is Sakurajima. There are plenty of things to enjoy all day long, so it's recommended as a sightseeing spot on the second day after staying at Tarumizu! On the other hand, we also recommend a route where you visit Sakurajima on the first day and take a ferry to Kagoshima on the second day.

Tarumi Senbon Ginkgo Garden
In November, the thousand ginkgo trees turn the whole area golden, like a scene from a movie, creating a romantic tourist spot. It's sure to look great on Instagram.

Arahira Tenjin Shrine
A mysterious photogenic spot floating on the sea! At high tide during spring tides, the sandy beach leading to the cape sinks into the sea, turning it into a "shrine floating on the sea." The sea is an emerald blue, making it a beautiful photogenic spot, so why not go and take a look?

This small inn with a retro Showa-era atmosphere is run by a husband and wife duo.
We want you to enjoy local food, so we use ingredients mainly from Tarumi, including our own rice and miso.
The bath is a traditional Goemon bath, with an iron boiler heated with firewood.
Sit around the hearth or soak in a Goemon bath... Enjoy your time at Tarumizu and feel like you're in the good old days, an experience that you can't have in modern life.
