The "Carillon Bells of Happiness," a monument to pledge love, stands 3.8 meters tall. Erected at 4:40 PM on March 11, 2011, at the height of the tsunami that reached the area during the Great East Japan Earthquake, it plays a melody that symbolizes happiness and world peace.

In this garden is the Matsushima Rikyu Shrine, a branch shrine of the Hiyoshi Sanno Shrine, which enshrines the guardian deity of Date Masamune, the founder of the Sendai Domain. The shrine traces the origins of the enshrinement of Oyamakui-no-kami and enshrines those who pray for matchmaking, safe childbirth, peace throughout the land, and abundant harvests.

Within the garden, there is a Happy Swimming Pond with a maximum width of 16m, a circumference of 53m, and a depth of 50cm.
The name "Happy Swimming Pond" comes from the hope that children and families will continue to enjoy the clean seawater, and that this pond will be shaped like a heart.
The seawater in Happy Swimming Pool is purified using a natural circulation and purification system that closely mimics the environment, resulting in seawater free of harmful bacteria, which is said to be good for the body.

The story behind the creation of Matsushima Bay, presented academically, is on display at the Miyagi Prefecture Matsushima Imperial Villa Museum, under the supervision of the Tohoku University Academic Resources Research and Public Access Center and the Tohoku University Museum of Science and Technology.
You can learn about the origins of the Tohoku region's topography, the history of Matsushima Bay, and its history dating back to the Jomon period, as well as its culture.
