Relax in the natural hot spring water
A hideaway with the warmth of wood
Located on a hill in Tsuetate Onsen, Kumamoto Prefecture, Ryokan Fukumi is known for its abundant bathing waters, which naturally gush out from the source at over 90 degrees Celsius. The weakly alkaline sodium chloride spring is popular for its skin-beautifying properties, leaving your skin feeling silky smooth after a bath.
The large public bath has an indoor bath with natural hot spring water flowing directly from the bath, and an open-air bath called "Manten no Yu" where you can hear the murmuring of the river and the chirping of birds, and at night you can bathe while gazing at the starry sky. There is also a steam sauna, which promotes comfortable sweating without drying out your skin or hair.
The harmony between the hot springs and the warmth of the wooden interior of the building changes with the seasons, and one guest has said, "The scent of the wood was soothing, I went into the hot springs five times as soon as I arrived."

A gourmet experience combining local seasonal ingredients and originality
Dinner is a creative kaiseki meal made with plenty of the bounty of the mountains and sea surrounding the local Tsuetate Onsen. The chef's skillful techniques bring out the freshness of local seasonal ingredients, such as Kumamoto's specialty horse sashimi, wild sweetfish raised in the clear Tsuetate River, and seafood sourced from Amakusa.
Meals are served in relaxing private dining rooms on the first and second floors, offering a private space where families and groups can enjoy a meal in comfort and relaxation.
Breakfast is also a warm Japanese breakfast made with local ingredients and with a balanced nutritional profile. The gentle flavor is popular, making it the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and start a fulfilling day.
Come experience the delicious local seasonal cuisine and relaxation in a private room at Ryokan Fukumi.
