Honda Kokeshi Workshop
It's about a 10-minute drive from Bandai Nishimuraya.
Honda Kokeshi Kobo is a traditional kokeshi doll shop located along Route 115 at the entrance to Nakanosawa Onsen in Inawashiro-machi, Yama-gun, Fukushima Prefecture. Please visit us to create a memorable souvenir of your trip to Aizu. We also offer "birthday kokeshi" and "painting experiences."
Tatsuzawa Fudo Falls
It's about a 5-minute drive from Bandai Nishimuraya.
This magnificent waterfall is located on the Fudo River, which originates in Mt. Funamyojin in the Adatara mountain range, and a shrine dedicated to Fudo Myoo (a Buddhist deity) stands at its base. The majestic male waterfall, where water cascades down the rock face like a curtain, contrasts beautifully with the graceful female waterfall, which stands quietly to its west.
Lake Inawashiro
It's about a 40-minute drive from Bandai Nishimuraya.
Lake Inawashiro is the third largest freshwater lake in Japan, with an area of 103.32 square kilometers and a depth of 93.5 meters. A distinctive feature of Lake Inawashiro is its clear, pristine water with a transparency of 12 to 15. It is designated as an area that possesses a valuable ecosystem, including a community of Hypnum plumaeforme, a nationally designated natural monument, and a wintering ground for swans.
Mount Bandai (Ura-Bandai)
Mount Bandai is one of Japan's famous mountains, spanning three towns and villages in Yama District, Fukushima Prefecture: Inawashiro Town, Bandai Town, and Kitashiobara Village.
Its appearance changes with each season, and it is especially popular with hikers during the seasons of fresh greenery and autumn leaves.
